“The Local Quaran-scene” is a video Q&A series featuring the owners of local businesses in Charlotte we all know and love. This series is to support our community by spreading their message, learn how they have creatively adjusted their business models and to understand how we can reach out and support.
Last weekend, with my morning coffee in hand while scrolling Instagram I saw this post…
Kent “tagged” Charlotte by giving away his art with a simple and much needed message…”spreading LOVE – if you find some, take it.”
So my family and I got in the car and headed to Southend to find ours. This was brilliant…and a much needed message right now.
kenT youngstrom is a local artist in Charlotte and I had the opportunity “sit down” and chat about how he’s doing and hear his unique perspective on the future. I happen to know Kent personally and this was a great reason to reach out, see how he and his family are doing and to learn more about how he’s spreading “LOVE” across the city during the shelter-in-place order.
Locally, Kent has collaborated with companies such as Leroy Fox, Revolution Clothiers, CLT Independence, 704 Shop, Weddington Fitness, Sweat Charlotte and others.
Nationally he’s worked with Magnolia Journal w/Joanna Gaines, Urban Outfitters, Target, CB2, Lulu Lemon, Crate & Barrel, Clean Juice and several more.
You can see several of his works on large-scale murals across Charlotte, shop his art on his website or attend one of his various workshops.
Kent is doing amazing things. If you love his message and need art for the walls of your quarantine space…#supportlocal.
